Life And Death
Gods and Goddesses live a very long time. Most have seen several civilizations rise and fall. Some of the ancient Gods and Goddesses have seen all civilizations rise and fall. Many will live to see our current civilization fall. It is not possible for man, spirit, or even a God or Goddess to live forever as nothing lives forever. In the end, everything dies.

The Afterlife
It is possible for a God or Goddess to extend "life". It is not a common occurrence but a few people are given a choice to die naturally or to continue on as some type of entity which the God or Goddess feels is most appropriate. To those few, at the moment of their death, they will be swept up and brought to a place where they will be given a choice to die or live on in the afterlife. Those who choose to live on never do so for the fear of death (or greed of life) but do so for the desire to continue their contribution to the common goal.

The End Result
If you are chosen, the afterlife is not something to fear. You will continue your contribution to the common goal, only in a different capacity. If you are not chosen, you have nothing to worry about as you will never know the afterlife. Either way, it is important to live a pure life and not be concerned with an afterlife.
